Needlepoint 101 with Emily
Have you been seeing needlepoint everywhere recently? Join Needlepoint 101 with Emily to learn more about this classic fiber art. Spend time learning about mesh counts, thread types, and master the essential tent stitches to get you stitching - Basketweave and Continental!
Each class is one 3-hour session.
What this class will cover:
- How is needlepoint different from other fiber arts
- (What are) 13-mesh vs. 18-mesh and what threads work for each
- (How to do the) Tent Stitches - Basketweave and Continental
- Helpful tools and how to use them - stretcher bars, seam ripper, threader, snag-nab-it, etc.
Recommended Supplies for Needlepoint 101:
Simple, painted canvas, such as 10ct or 18ct Poppy Monk, thread, tapestry needles, stretcher bars, tacks. If you have a canvas but need help with choosing thread, Emily will help you choose during class.
