The Finishing Line
We're here to help get those gifts DONE!

The holidays are nearly here! Do you need some extra help getting your handmade gifts done? We're here to help! Here's how:

1. If you just need quick help, or if you're not sure, just stop in for some Counter Help. We will pick up most dropped stitches, remind you how to bind off, tell you where you are in the pattern, etc, and as long as it takes less than 15 minutes of staff time, it's FREE! (Note: if we're really busy, you may have to be patient.)

2. Private Lessons! Need more than a little counter help? We have teachers who can help with crochet, knitting, weaving, tatting, naalbinding; they may even be able to help with other crafts. Call and set up an appointment at 210-979-8255.

3. We have a class on Fixing Knitting Mistakes if you need it, and some Workshop classes where you can bring any project you like and get help from the instructor - you can even bring multiple projects!

The Tip Jar

What's the right way to fasten-off a piece of knit or crochet? I'll bet it's not what you think! Most people put the tail through the last loop and pull tight, creating a knot. DON'T DO THAT! Knotting the end that way means that you can never tidy up the last stitch. Instead, pretend the last loop is a balloon and simply "blow up the balloon" until it POPS! This will not unravel, but it also means that you won't have a hard, ugly knot and you can easily tidy up that final stitch.
