Our Web Shop is OPEN and LIVE!
Our web shop is OPEN and we're doing other stuff online, too!
Bexar county continues to shelter in place, so we are still closed to in-person shopping. However, Caryn has been working hard to get our online store functional and some of you eagle-eyed yarnies have already spotted the change...How do we know? Orders! We still have work to do as we convert the rest of our products to the site, thanks for your patience!
To find the Yarnivore web shop, just click the "products" tab on our website, or simply go to this link. Right now, we are only shipping to Texas, but that may change as we learn more about how to do online sales. Shipping costs are based on the dollar amount— $5 for orders under $50, $10 for orders from $50-100, and orders over $100 will ship FREE.
We're also working on other ways to support y'all and keep you crafting through the crisis:
~Wendy shared her first Facebook Live Video (click to view it) showing how to fix a common shawl-knitting mistake. She is planning other Fixing Mistakes and How-to videos, so make sure you follow our Facebook page! You can request a topic on Facebook, through email, or email Wendy directly.
~Wendy is also learning to use the Zoom meeting app, and hopes to be able to use it to do online lessons and classes.
~We are answering questions and helping with projects through email and Facebook messages. You can send us pictures or just message with questions. We've answered blocking questions, needle/hook size, "does this look right," etc.
~We're accepting home-sewn masks to deliver to local medical staff. If you have masks to drop off, email the store and we'll coordinate a time.
Yes, things feel a bit surreal at the moment, but we will all get through this if we support one another (from at least 6 feet away?)
Be well, be safe, be kind!

Featured Pattern and Yarn
While we're at home, it's a great time for some Stash-busting projects! Here's one of our favorites— the 10-stitch blanket. It's only 10 stitches wide and you join as you go and use ANY yarn at all! It's a great way to use up some stash and once you get the hang of it, it's great TV knitting! It's a FREE Ravelry download, and it also comes in a crochet version and a loom-knitting version.
Regular and Upcoming Events
Yarnivorphans, Friday Night Cravings, and Spinner Saturday are currently on hiatus.
April 12 - Closed for Easter
April 25 - Local Yarn Shop Appreciation Day
It's springtime and the birds are busy making nests. Did you know that they love little bits of yarn in their nest? When you finish a project with natural fiber yarn, you can just toss the cut off tails out on the lawn! Please no acrylics or blends, though, as they don't interact well with nature.
All classes and private lessons are currently on hold, due to the San Antonio & Bexar County joint Stay Home/Work Safe order, effective 3/25-4/9. We'll update our opening schedule as we hear more from authorities.
