In-Person Shopping!

We're open again (limited hours)!

Good news! Per the Governor's, Mayor's, and Judge's orders, Yarnivore is now open 1-5 pm daily for low capacity shopping. That's 7 days a week, for 4 hours per day.

What does 'low capacity' mean? It means we will limit shoppers so that we can maintain social distance, for everyone's safety.

~ When you enter the store, you'll see that we've rearranged some furniture to help keep us all separated. If necessary, we offer distanced seating for shoppers who need to wait while others complete their purchases.

~ Also, we require that everyone wear masks while in the store. This is to keep everyone safe - many in the fiber community are immune-compromised, as are some of our employees, so we want to keep everyone (and their loved ones) safe.

~ Hand sanitizer is available at the front door and register, plus everyone is welcome to wash their hands in our bathroom.

~ Staff will regularly clean commonly touched surfaces with disinfectant.

~ We continue to offer online shopping and curbside pick up for those who prefer that. To use curbside pick up, place your order online. Most of our products are now visible (if you don't see something, email us at YarnivoreSA@gmail.com).

Be well, be safe, be kind!

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!
In honor of Star Wars Day, we offer this adorable baby outfit to turn your Little One into a strong wielder of The Force! With an adorable Baby Yoda inspired hat and baby's first light saber, it's perfect for little Lukes and Leias!
For a soft, touchable and washable yarn choice, we recommend Scheepjes Eliza, a fleecy 100% polyester yarn that will go through the washer with ease. Use color #213 Minty Fresh for the hat and #235 Caramel Dream for the diaper cover.
May the Crafting Force be With You!

Online Shopping Troubleshooting
Having trouble getting through check out? Try refreshing your browser (that circle/arrow thingy near the url bar); this seems to clear most issues. Also, make sure you're not using a broken link (we shared our test link in our newsletter back in March and have since corrected it). The correct link should have yarnivoresa.net/etcetc (not yarnivoresa.rainadmin/etc etc). Click here for the correct link (yes, we double-checked).
If all else fails, you can either call while we're open or email us and we'll take your order over the phone.

Here's How Curbside Works
~We pull your order and mark it as In Process, which notifies you via email that we are working on your order.
~Then we pack your order and mark it as Ready for Pickup, which notifies you again via email. After receiving this 'ready' email, you can swing by any time we're open to pick up.
~Once you arrive, you can either call or come to the door and we'll hand you your order!

Online Private Lessons
Here's how to sign up for an online video lesson with Wendy! Don't have a webcam? That's okay! She can help over text or one-sided (you see her, but she can't see you) video/text. This page will tell you how to set it up. If you need more help, you can email Meredith (Wendy’s helper) at knittingschool7648@gmail.com. She'll help you get set up! Lessons are only $18 for an hour-long session!

The Tip Jar
Crochet is fairly easy to rip out if you've made a mistake, but ripping out knitting can be scary!

Here's a rule of thumb: Always follow the yarn! To unknit/unpurl a stitch, hold the needle with the stitch(es) you want to undo in your left hand. Insert your right-hand needle into the stitch beneath the one you want to undo (the yarn should be coming from the same place). Lift the stitch off the left needle and onto the right needle, and pull the yarn to undo the stitch.

If the yarn isn't coming from the stitch you're looking at, then simply slip it to the right-hand needle without undoing it.

Some of your undone stitches may end up on their needle backwards. You can correct this as you work the next row.

All classes and in-person private lessons are currently on hold, due to the San Antonio & Bexar County joint Stay Home/Work Safe order.
