In our hearts
You Matter to Us
Love is what we're about
We like to serve as an escape from the uncertainties, fears, and divisions of the world around us - keeping our happy place, well, happy. We believe that we can bring people together by focusing on what we share, our love of fiber. Our focus on the happy doesn't mean that we're blind to what's happening in the world. We see it and we know we will get through this by taking care of each other. We choose to see the best in others and hope y'all do the same for those in your lives. Since we can't see y'all for the real deal, we'll end tonight with virtual hugs.
Be well, be safe, be kind!

Hours
Yes, we're open! Yarnivore is open 7 days a week, yay! As staff returns, we're expanding our hours and getting ready to start classes again! Our hours for the next couple of weeks are 11-6 M-F and normal hours on the weekends (10-5 Sat, 12-5 Sun). Wendy returns on June 7 and will hold in-person lessons. She's also starting her classes back up, beginning with those classes that we had to suspend in March.
Featured Project
Every year on the summer solstice (June 20), the Alzheimer's Association hosts The Longest Day event to "fight the darkness" of Alzheimer's. In honor of this day, we encourage y'all to make fidget sleeves. People with dementia often have restless hands and these colorful sleeves keep their hands busy, helping calm them. You can use stash yarn and various doodads to give them some added interest. Here are a couple of knit and crochet patterns to get you started.

Crochet Fidge Muff (web link)
You're welcome to share your fidget sleeves with those you know or drop them at Yarnivore and we'll take them to local memory care homes.
Featured Yarn
NEW! We just unpacked our latest shipment of Hedgehog Fibre Sock and Scheepjes Whirl! Now that we're finding our new normal, we've been placing orders and making room for new fiber, whoot!
Private Lessons
As we said above, Wendy will be returning to the shop on June 7 and will again be offering private lessons in the shop. She will also still offer lessons online for those who can't come in person. She asks that all in-person students wear a mask throughout the lesson and do not come if they aren't feeling well.
Call the shop at 210-979-8255 to make an appointment for either type of lesson!
The Tip Jar
Deciding on colors for your project? Start with art! Look at some of the free online galleries from various museums around the world, and at our own local museums - the San Antonio Museum of Art and the McNay Art Museum.
Once you find art you love, you can use it to choose colors that are guaranteed to make you happy!
All classes and in-person private lessons are currently on hold, due to the San Antonio & Bexar County joint Stay Home/Work Safe order.
