Happy Independence Day!
Featured Pattern & Yarn
Hot Town, Summer in the City
We hope that title reminds you of steamy summers and hot hits! Speaking of steamy and so forth...now is the time to work in lighter weight yarn made from plant fibers. Berroco's Summer Sesame is a great choice. Summer Sesame is a summer styled version of Berroco's Sesame yarn, which many of you have used and loved. This DK weight yarn is light to the touch and self striping, which makes it easy to love.
We like it in Marisol by Amy Christoffers ($8 in-store/Ravelry/Berroco website). This top is knit in panels, making use of the striping horizontally and vertically.
For extra cuteness, try it in Mystic Square by James N. Watts ($8 in-store/Ravelry/Payhip). Also knit in panels, these are join-as-you-go and have a sweet cropped silhouette. Check out the designer's instagram for even more adorableness!

Taking your projects with you sometimes means that you need a Very Big Bag. Slipped Stitch Studios have a new line of fun totes that fit the bill. They're big (18" x 18" x 3") and sturdy and have fun sayings that proclaim your passion for (dependency on?) all things yarn.

Private Lessons
In-store and online private lessons are available! Please call us at 210-979-8255 to schedule a lesson! Wendy, Dawn, Moses, and Nancy M. are all available to help you with your projects! Private Lessons can be scheduled outside of regular hours at the discretion of the teacher.
The Tip Jar
Having trouble with keeping your ball of yarn tidy? Slippery yarns, like cotton, bamboo, silk, and alpaca, can get tangled and messy in your project bag. Those of us with cats also know the tangle caused by kitty play, too. Using a yarn bra or cozy can help protect your yarn balls while you knit or crochet, and can make the yarn look more boring to the household critters. We carry Buffy Ann's Yarn Cozy and Slipped Stitch Studio's Yarn Sock. You can also DIY a yarn bra from clean footies or socks. We also use sandwich sized ziplock bags occasionally (these are our least favorite because - plastic).
All regular classes are currently on hold until we can safely seat up to 6 students in the classroom. We'll let y'all know when we can offer them again. Until then, we're offering most of our class material in private lessons.
