Good Things Come in Threes
Triadic color schemes for sweetness

Triadic color schemes are such a great way to add playful energy into your work. To find a triadic colors, just lay an equilateral triangle on top of the color wheel!

In their most saturated forms, triadic colors are very energetic. They're very popular in hand-dyed yarns, and always make for some lovely energy! See A & B at right.

As always, you don't have to keep them fully saturated. In example C, you can see that you can get some sophistication that's still quite energetic. Imagine this as a necklace of mauve and light jade stones on a deep teal neckline! Gorgeous! D gives another view in which we've deepened our triad of colors to a jewel tone and made them into a bracelet.

Triadic colors are also hugely popular in kids' decor, like E, right, which would be a lovely scheme for a nursery or baby blanket!

The Tip Jar

Choosing what size pattern to make isn't always easy! Here's a tip to help: Most sweater patterns have a schematic that shows the finished measurements of each size. Take a sweatshirt or heavy t-shirt that fits you the way you like and compare ITS measurements to the schematic. That way you'll be sure to get a fit you like!

All regular classes are currently on hold until we can safely seat up to 6 students in the classroom. We'll let y'all know when we can offer them again. Until then, we're offering most of our class material in private lessons.
