Thank you for being a friend! We are overwhelmed with how much love y'all shared on Local Yarn Shop Day, thanks so much for stopping in on Saturday. It was great to see so many of you arrange meet ups at Yarnivore, to hear how much we mean to you, and to talk about, what else, YARN! Y'all have no idea how great we felt Saturday. Seriously. We're sending virtual hugs to everyone!

Featured Yarn & Pattern
Jody Long's Coastline is a luxurious cotton and linen blend spun in Italy. The distressed colors, a result of the ways the fibers take the dyes at different rates, add extra depth to the finished fabric. The marled effect evokes a sun dappled day at the beach! Jody Long lists Coastline as a worsted, but we think it might be better as a bulky in south Texas. Gauge is 17st/4" on a US 9, but Caryn is working on a t-shirt using a US 10.5 needle (shall we pester her for the pattern?). We love Jody Long's Brighton Sweater (shown at right) and Torquay Sweater - both are $6 in-store or on Ravelry, and were designed especially for Coastline.

Private Lessons
In-store and online private lessons are available! Please call 210-979-8255 to schedule a lesson! Wendy, Dawn, Moses, and Nancy are all available to help you with your projects! Private Lessons can be scheduled outside of regular hours at the discretion of the teacher.
The Tip Jar
Are you into stuffies? Amigurumi, handmade dolls, stuffed toys? Ever notice that sometimes the stuffing shows through to the outside? Yeah. It's annoying. You can prevent the stuffing show-through by using a liner. The easiest to use is a bit of recycled nylon stockings or tights. If you can find a color that matches the stuffie, that's even better. Don't have stockings? Any stretchy knit fabric will do - odd socks, scraps from tshirts, etc. Cut the lining fabric a little bigger than the inside of the stuffie and push it in, making a cup for the stuffing. Stuff with fiberfill or wool, then fold/tuck the excess lining to the inside before sewing the stuffie closed.
All regular classes are currently on hold until we can safely seat up to 6 students in the classroom. We'll let y'all know when we can offer them again. Until then, we're offering most of our class material in private lessons.
