In this issue:  Introducing: Jackie!   Upcoming Classes and Events   Shop News   The Tip Jar   Contact info

Introducing: Jackie!!Jackie, a middle aged white woman with a shoulder length light-brown bob and wispy bangs, smiles gently at the camera. She appears medium sized and is shown from waist up. She's wearing a black & grey striped sweater and a delicate silver cross pendant. She's standing in front of the cross-stitch cubbies at Yarnivore.
A consummate cross-stitcher and fabulous finisher!

We would like to introduce a new member of our staff: Jackie!

Jackie learned to crochet, embroider, and sew as a child. She began cross stitching in the late 90's. In 2009, she bought half ownership of Stitches From The Heart (a cross-stitch store), just before retiring from USAA in March 2010. The shop, sadly, closed at the end of 2021.

Jackie is an amazing cross stitcher! She also does do almost all types of cross stitch finishing work - framing, sewing, embellishment.

Her first group class will be a Cross Stitch Workshop on November 11 at 1 pm. She's also available for private lessons for cross stitch, embroidery, and finishing.

If you have a cross-stitch piece and you want expert finishing, Jackie is available privately for finishing work. In the photo below, you'll see own cross stitch and embroidery work.

We are thrilled that Jackie has joined us at Yarnivore!

Happy Stitching!

An example of Jackie's work - top left a cross stitched heart-shaped pillow in red and white on a beige background, top right embroidered pansies on a quilt square, bottom left, a cross-stitch pink puppy frolicking in the flowers on a gingham background, bottom right two stand-up soft cross-stitch sculptures of bunnies that resemble the American Gothic painting

Shop NewsA white woman with long brown hair is shown from thighs up. She's facing the camera and standing hip-shot. She's wearing a striped vest handknit with self-striping yarn in shades of blue and green with cable patterns on the front over a white turtleneck and blue jeans

Featured Yarn & Pattern
We love a good self-striping yarn! Sirdar's new chunky Jewelspun with Wool is a machine washable, squishy-soft yarn with 20% wool. It's great for easy sweaters and wraps - perfect for autumn weather!

Sirdar has lots of beautiful patterns for Jewelspun with wool, including both knit and crochet. Shown at right is the Coral Reef Vest from their Ocean Treasures Collection. This vest pattern is knitted from the bottom-up and would make a great layer, or wear it alone on warmer days! Pattern is $5 in-store or on Ravelry, or $4.45 on Sirdar.com.

Remember to take breaks and move around!

Sometimes, we can get really into our stitching and find that we've been sitting in the same position for hours - and that can cause some serious pain! If you often forget to take breaks, set some alarms or timers on your phone so that it will remind you to get up, get a snack and a drink and move around a little bit!
